Realogy and Junior Achievement
Realogy employees joined together in their fourth annual Bowl-A-Thon on June 10, 2010, raising more than $14,000 for Junior Achievement of New Jersey (JANJ). This was the most recent event associated with the Company’s support of youth education on the local level through fundraising and volunteer activities with Junior Achievement member organizations in New Jersey and Connecticut.

Through a dedicated volunteer network, JA provides in-school and after-school programs for students in grades K-12. JA offers workforce readiness programs that focus on seven key content areas: business, citizenship, economics, entrepreneurship, ethics/character, financial literacy, and career development.

  • Realogy participated in the JANJ’s Job Shadow Day in April 2010, where local high school students took part in a series of informative sessions to get a first-hand account of working in a corporate environment.
  • In March 2010, Realogy participated in “Dr. Seuss Read Day” at Alexander Hamilton Elementary School in Morristown, N.J., and volunteered to teach 280 third- through fifth-grade students at the same elementary school about business and how education plays an important role in the workplace.
  • Dave Weaving, Realogy's chief administrative officer, is a JANJ State Board Member and was chairman of the 2010 New Jersey Business Hall of Fame
  • Michael Miedler, a vice president with Century 21 Real Estate, and who serves on JANJ’s North District Board, coordinates many JANJ events and activities for Realogy along with Lisa Castagna, lease administrator in Realogy’s corporate real estate department.

Cartus has a 16-year relationship with Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut during which it has helped it raise in excess of $1 million. Cartus employees have been instrumental in helping raise funds for Junior Achievement by initiating the JA Golf Invitational and sponsoring its Bowl-A-Thon and Hall of Fame events. Cartus continues to be the largest provider of JA classroom consultants in the Danbury area, and has hosted hundreds of local students for Job Shadow activities.

  • Traci Morris, executive vice president at Cartus, has been on the JA Western Connecticut board of directors for 16 years, and earned the Junior Achievement’s Silver Award in 2009 for significant leadership contributions to the organization. She also serves as vice chair of JA’s Danbury Community Board
