New Company, Long-Standing History

Realogy Corporation may be a fairly new company but our leadership position as an integrated provider of real estate and relocation services began in 1995, with the acquisition of Century 21 Real Estate Corporation. Our expansion continued through several strategic acquisitions and organic growth. Today, our business is made of four major parts:

The leading franchisor of residential real estate brokerages in the world
The largest owner and operator of residential real estate brokerages in the U.S.
One of the leading relocation services providers in the world and the largest in the U.S.; and
A provider of title and other settlement services, licensed in 43 states.

Realogy’s History

1995 – HFS acquires Century 21 Real Estate Corporation

1996 – ERA Franchise Systems, Inc. is acquired; Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation is acquired

1997 – Cartus (then the relocation arm of PHH Corporation) is acquired

1997 – Cendant created via merger of HFS and CUC

2002 – Cendant acquires NRT Incorporated and creates Title Resource Group

2004 – Company licenses the Sotheby’s International Realty brand and acquires its company-owned brokerage offices

2006 – Realogy Corporation becomes a public company after spin-off from Cendant

2007 – Realogy is acquired by Apollo Management; Signs licensing agreement with Meredith Corporation to franchise under the Better Homes and Gardens® brand name

2008 - Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate franchise network launches
