Muhammad Rizwan Akhtar serves as executive vice president, chief technology officer of business technology for Realogy. Appointed to the role in September 2020, Akhtar leads technology services for Realogy’s agent and broker team, Title Group, Cartus Relocation, and AI Labs.
He joined the company in 2018 where he brought more than 20 years of deep technology and business domain expertise in retail and financial services to the role of senior vice president of information technology, chief information officer for Cartus. Immediately prior to Cartus, Akhtar served as managing director of personal and business banking technology at BMO Harris Bank.
Akhtar’s extensive leadership experience creating and supporting growth and transformation business strategies, culminating in a successful track record in leading the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical, and complex enterprise initiatives.
From 2007 to 2017, Akhtar held progressive key senior leadership positions at M&T Bank, ultimately serving as group vice president. While at M&T, he managed digital channels for retail and business banking customers, including the technology management of M&T’s online banking and mobile banking channels.
Akhtar holds an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of South Asia. He also holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
